MSAN (Multi-Service Access Node)
The new thing of the Technology the technology that gives multi services with one line this technology is the invented by the upgrading of DSLAM (Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer) system this is a network device, usually install at the telephone exchange it receives signals from multiple customer Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) connections and puts the signals on a high-speed backbone line using multiplexing technique. In the case of MSAN it take 3 different services input and give the one line output that line is the connect at the end of user side.This is the technology upgraded. It works like an DSLAM but with one more services with the help of DSLAM we can provide two services on one line (PSTN and DSL) but in the the MSAN can provide Three sevices PSTN/Telephone DSL and TV.
A typical outdoor MSAN cabinet consists of narrowband (POTS), broadband (xDSL) services, batteries with rectifiers, optical TXMN (transmission) unit and copper distribution frame.
